Richard C. Tofuri  –   of Merrimack NH, formerly of Schooner Bay, Ft Myers, FL, Woburn and Essex, MA, August 12th, at seventy-nine years of age.

Born in Winchester, Richard was a son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Tropea) Tofuri. After graduating from Woburn High School, Rich served his country proudly in the United States Air Force until being honorably discharged.

For many years, Rich worked as an engineer for Varian Associates in Beverly, MA. While working there, Rich lived in Essex. He loved being by the ocean and especially sea clamming.

After retiring, Rich moved to Florida, where he volunteered his time, driving the shuttle, for Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Meyers, FL.

In his free time he enjoyed, gardening, fishing and cooking for his family. His family was his world and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. He was a devoted, loving and selfless father, grandfather and friend whom will be deeply missed.

I want to extend my condolences to you and your families on your Dad’s passing. We had a lot of memorable times together over the years, especially when he was doing the cooking while trying to convince everybody in attendance that I was much older than him. He has passed but the memories will remain. Love to you all.
