OBITUARY;

Anne M. (McDonough) Marshall passed away Monday, February 5th. The beloved wife of Frederic Marshall, she was eighty -one years of age.

Born in Woburn to Irish immigrants, the late Joseph and Ann (Joyce) McDonough, Anne was the oldest of seven children. Raised in the South End of Woburn, Anne had attended St. Charles Elementary and High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. Following high school Anne began working for New England Telephone Company in Boston.

One evening she had been to the Town Line House, where she met Freddy Marshall. In 1957 they married and they too settled right there in the south end of Woburn, where they brought five children into the world! Needless to say Anne was quite busy over the years with four sons and a daughter! She was totally invested in her family. Her sisters, brothers their families, and the Marshalls all travelled to Hampton Beach for summer vacations. They all thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to those two weeks and have continued over many, many years. After the children were all in school Anne went back to work for the Woburn Business Association. There she had served as the Executive Secretary for just about twelve years, and enjoyed every moment!

She and Fred had the very good fortune of travelling together over the years. A favorite spot was Ireland where they visited and were able to connect to family there, which totally added another wonderful dimension to their visits. Going to Las Vegas, watching Boston College football were also some of Anne’s interests.

Anne was very handy around the house! Wall papering, painting, sanding, decorating she always had projects going. Her favorite project though, was outside working in the garden. Every evening in the spring, summer and fall, she would tend to her flowers, watering, weeding, and arranging, always brought her great joy, and looked beautiful!

Anne was truly a woman of great faith and family. Each day would start with the rosary and her dedication and love of her family was always, oh so special.

Sadly Anne was predeceased by her parents, her dear husband Fred and sisters Millie Moody and Mary Valente.

Anne is lovingly survived by her children, Steven R. Marshall, his partner Mary Ellen Lannon of Woburn, Paul J. Marshall, his fiancé Linda Brady of Woburn, Kenneth W. Marshall and his wife Sharon of Pepperell, David J. Marshall of Woburn and Julie A. Marshall of Woburn. Dear sister of Joseph McDonough of NH, Elizabeth Girardi of Woburn, William McDonough of Rockland, John McDonough of Canton. Loving grandmother of Kerri, Michael, Christopher, Erin, Mark, Michaela and Paul Marshall. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 10th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
