ATHENA G. "ETHEL" (JIARAS) PETRUCK - of Woburn, January 11th at ninety two years of age. Beloved wife of the late Walter Petruck. Lovingly devoted mother of Mark Petruck, his wife Jeanette of South Easton and Walter Petruck Jr., his husband Sean O'Leary of Haverhill. Ethel is also survived by her dear companion cat Manny. OBITUARY:

Athena G. "Ethel" (Jiaras) Petruck, a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, January 11th, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, at ninety two years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Petruck.

Born in Boston, Athena was the daughter of the late George and Alexandra (Voudouris) Jiaras. She was raised in the Jamaica Plain Section of Boston, and a graduate of Brookline High School Class of 1943. After graduation, she attended night business school at Boston University.

For over 50 years, Ethel worked for American Mutual Insurance. She started in the Boston office at the age of 16, and then transferred to the Wakefield Office where she worked for 27 years as a accounting supervisor, training and supervising employees.

On January 11, 1953, Ethel married the love of her life, Walter Petruck. They met years prior at a dance and continued to dance throughout the years. After they married, they lived briefly in Somerville until making their home in Woburn in 1954, where they raised their two sons. Ethel was a dedicated and devoted wife and mother and would do anything for her family.

Ethel was an avid reader and also enjoyed playing card games with her friends, almost every weekend for many years. She was a very social woman with a great sense of humor, whom enjoyed the company of others especially her family.

Ethel was the lovingly devoted mother of Mark Petruck, his wife Jeanette of South Easton and Walter Petruck Jr., his husband Sean O'Leary of Haverhill. Ethel is also survived by her dear companion cat, Manny.
