OBITUARY:

Charles “Tuna” O’Doherty passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, December 1st after a brief illness.

Beloved son of the late Charles S. and Nancy L. (Barrett) O’Doherty, he was fifty- two years of age.

Born in Winchester, Tuna was raised and educated in Woburn, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1985. Immediately following high school Tuna began working along side his good friend's family business, Holland Brothers. He remained there for over twenty years doing anything and everything! From moving cars around in the yard to removing any and all necessary parts, Tuna was the man for the job and he took great pride in what he did.

Tuna and his brother were very close over the years. He began working with his brother in the garage door business, again being Jimmie’s right hand man.

Tuna shared a great interest in antiques. Be it cars or furniture, he would travel to Maine and New Hampshire and spend days at a time admiring it all, while also enjoying nature, eagles and time spent with family.

The greatest gift in his life though was his daughter Ashley. She was the most important person in his life, and he was so very proud of her.

The last eight months were difficult ones for Tuna, but he never gave up hope. The funny, articulate, caring and compassionate man approached each day with all the vim and vigor he lived life with. A truly kind and good man, Tuna was a good friend to many, and will be missed by all.

Sadly, Tuna was predeceased by his Mom, Dad, sister Helen Lacrosse O'Doherty and brother David O'Doherty.

Tuna is lovingly survived by his dear daughter, Ashley O'Doherty of Woburn, his brother, James "Jim " O'Doherty and his wife Kelley of Woburn, his sister-in-law, Sandy O'Doherty of Burlington, his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Christopher, Shannon and Danny O'Doherty, Michael LaCross and Sharon Maldonato. "Tuna" is also survived by many dear friends. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, December 7th, at Noon.
