OBITUARY:

Rose M. (Nett) Forester, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away at her home early Friday morning, November 24th. The beloved wife of Angelo C. Forester she was ninety one years of age.

Born in Woburn, Rose was one of eight children of the late Philip and Josephine (Meulo) Forester. Raised and educated in the south end of the city, Rose attended Woburn Schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School and the Class of 1944. Rose had secured herself a position as a bookkeeper for a Sand and Gravel Company located in Burlington.

In her early twenties she went on a double date with her aunt, uncle and a friend of theirs, Carl. Well, off they went in the rumble seat of their car and a wonderful time was had by all. That was the beginning of a loving journey that ventured over seventy years.

They made their lifelong family home in the “Rag Rock” section of the city where they brought six wonderful children into the world to whom they have been dedicated to.

Salisbury Beach was the family destination in the summer months where family would join in and enjoy all there was to summer fun!

Rose was always very busy. Tending to her husband and children was first and foremost each and every day. Roses’ culinary skills were superb! Each day, being of very proud Italian heritage, a wonderful meal graced the table. Rose was truly an exceptional cook whose raviolis, lasagna, chicken , fish or veal dishes were exemplary. Holiday gatherings, even after the children had grown, were always at home and thoroughly enjoyed by all. For all birthdays, holidays and special occasions, Rose always made the cakes and masterfully do her own very special decorating of the cake, like no other!

Rose’s creativity didn’t stop in the kitchen as she was a natural seamstress always making her own window treatments, slip covers, and curtains, without a lot of fuss.

In all that she did each day, Rose also continued to work when the children were growing up at Jordan Marsh and then later for her husband’s company as the bookkeeper of Carl Forester and Sons.

In later years she and her husband would winter in Marco Island or Miami Beach and had made some truly wonderful friendships there over the years; and always a wonderful place for family to gather.

Rose ‘s life was full. Faith , family and friends filled her life . She was a truly wonderful person, always giving of herself, in all that she did, each and every day for over ninety years.

Rose is lovingly survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Angelo C. Forester of Woburn. Loving mother of Katherine L. Coakley, her husband Dr. Peter, of Miami Beach, FL, Charles Forester, his wife Sue of FL, Sharon F. Harrington, her husband Marc, of Woburn, Carol J. Forester of Wilmington, Beverly A.
