OBITUARY:

Charles Edwards, a long time resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 18th at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. Charles was seventy five years of age.

Born in Somerville, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Burlomacci) Edwards. The youngest of three children and the only son, Charles was raised and educated in Somerville, being a graduate of Somerville High School with the Class of 1960.

Charles moved to the Center section of Woburn in 1966 where he raised his son and daughter. At the same time raising his family, Charles was diligently working very hard to get his own business off the ground. Well the “ole boy from Somerville” did very, very, well at both! He loved spending time with his children, travelling to Cape Cod for summer vacation or even just a weekend, trying out new and different restaurants. He had always wanted the very best for his children.

Charles had a real interest in classic cars and was a proud owner of a 57’ Chevy. He truly enjoyed partaking in classic car events.

Charles and his long time companion Gerri, had a very special relationship. What began as a professional relationship, slowly developed into a very special friendship, that encompassed a love and tight bond between them.

Later in life, Charles enjoyed traveling with his soul mate “Gerri”. They frequented Las Vegas, where he was a guest at Ceaser’s Palace, enjoying all of the shows and many of the entertainment venues there on the the “strip.”

Venice, Florida, was also a cherished spot for them. The sun, beach and evening walks next to the ocean, were frequent and always enjoyed.

Charles will be remembered as a wonderful, fun loving, generous, kind hearted gentleman. Charles was so very proud of his children, grand children and soul mate, there was absolutely nothing in the world he would not have done for them.

Charles throughout his life always remained close with his sisters. He also knew that they would be awaiting his arrival in heaven, when he had to leave this world.

Charles was very successful in his business venture, retiring from Dwyer Associates as President in the early ninties. Following his retirement he and Gerri had moved to New Hampshire, where they have remained.

Charles had been a member of the Travellers Club, Knights of Columbus, along with being a very generous donor to the “Make a Wish Foundation.”

Sadly, Charles was predeceased by his parents, and his dear sisters Nancy Pace and Grayce Giglio.

Charles is lovingly survived by his children, Michal Edwards, his wife Debra, Beth-Ann Duncan, along with his beloved life companion Geraldine Brennan and her daughter, Heidi Brennan all of Woburn.

Cherished grandfather of Elyssa and Elizabeth Duncan and Cameron Edwards. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch - Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, Nov. 24th at 12 noon.
