Joanne E. Peary, a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, Sunday, November 12th at Winchester Hospital. The beloved fiancé of the late Mark R. Famolare, she was fifty-four years of age.

Born in Winchester, Joanne was one of nine children born of the late Frederick C. and Eleanor(Johnson)Peary Sr.

From a very early age, Joanne always had a love for all animals. At the age of fourteen, Joanne along with her sister Terri, shared the enjoyment of being at Max’s Horse Farm where they took care of riding, feeding and grooming the horses. As the years went on, Joanne became a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Woburn Moose which kept her very busy! Joanne enjoyed participating and assisting in cooking dinners for the Senior Citizens during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

For many years, Joanne enjoyed dressing up as Tommy, the "Moose" in the annual Woburn Halloween Parade. In addition, she worked tirelessly assisting her favorite volunteer program, "Little League Challenger Baseball" games. This program provides an opportunity for children with physical and developmental challenges, to enjoy playing the game of baseball. Joanne proudly was the recipient of her thirty year pin with the program!

An avid sports fan of all the Boston teams, Joanne was a super fan of the New England Patriots! Playing on a dart team and participating over the years in many different bowling leagues, all kept Joanne very busy as well!

A person very close to her family, Joanne was always excited about the huge family gatherings during special occasions or for the holidays at the family homestead. She loved spending “happy chaos time” with all of her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many, many cousins! All of whom were most sear to her.
