REGINA ELLEN (TURGISS) SHANNON - of Woburn, Sunday, October 15th, She was 87 years of age. Dear wife of the late Richard H. Shannon. Devoted mother of Karen Street and her husband Brian, of Woburn, Kristine Martin and her husband Marc, of Dracut, Karol Simon and her husband Attila, of Billerica, and the Late Mark Kerrigan. Loving sister of Gordon Turgiss and his wife Phyllis, of Plymouth. Cherished grandmother of of Justin Martin, Alexis Street, Dalton and Blake Simon, and Leah and Johanna Kerrigan. Great-grandmother of Colton Martin. Per request of the family, all services are private.

Obituary

Regina Ellen (Turgiss) Shannon, 87, a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, Sunday, October 15th at Stonebridge at Burlington. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Shannon.

Born in Woburn, she was a daughter of the late George and Genevieve (Hogue) Turgiss. She was educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School. In 1974, Regina married Richard H. Shannon.

For over twenty years, Regina wintered with her husband in Port Richie, Florida. They enjoyed traveling and visiting somewhere they had never been or revisiting a well loved spot. Along with her husband, Mrs. Shannon had the unbelievable experience of visiting six out of the seven Wonders of the World.

Regina is lovingly survived by her children, Karen Street and her husband Brian of Woburn, Kristine Martin and her husband Marc of Dracut, and Karol Simon and her husband Attila of Billerica; her brother, Gordon Turgiss and his wife Phyllis of Plymouth; her cherished grandchildren, Justin Martin, Alexis Street, Dalton and Blake Simon, and Leah and Johanna Kerrigan, as well as her great-grandson, Colton Martin.

She was predeceased by her son Mark Kerrigan.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you, to all of the nurses and staff at the Stonebridge at Burlington, for all of the love and care they gave to Regina during her time there.

At the family’s request all services are private and under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.
