Obituary of Anne M. 'Donya' (Torrice) Ridge

ANNE M. 'DONYA'(TORRICE) RIDGE - of Woburn, Monday, October 16th at ninety-four years of age. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence J. Ridge. Devoted mother of Karen R. Boucher, her husband Paul of Lebanon, NH, Lauren T. Scotti, her husband Roland of Woburn and Larry Ridge, his wife Fran of Beverly. Dear sister of Angie LaCasse, her husband Lawrence of Westwood, Kathleen Currier, her husband Dave of VA, sister-in-law Claire Torrice of Woburn and the late Mary Beachamp, Grace Langill, Samuel, Carl, Joseph and John Torrice. Very special Nana of Christopher and Matthew Boucher, Alison Scotti, Eric, Amy and Adam Ridge, the late Jonathan Scotti and eight great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, October 18th at 12. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call at the Funeral Home Wednesday, October 18th from 10:30-11:45 a.m prior to the Funeral Mass. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in Anne's honor to the Aberjona Resident Fund, 184 Swanton Street, Winchester, MA 01890.

Obituary

Anne M. ‘Donya’ Ridge, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away on Monday morning, October 16th at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester. The beloved wife of the late Lawrence J. Ridge, she was ninety-four years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Anne was one nine children born to the late Anthony and Grace (Rizza) Torrice of Woburn. She attended Woburn Public Schools.

After she graduated Anne met the love of her life Lawrence J. Ridge who had returned home from World War II. They made their first home together in the Highlands section of Woburn, proudly raising three children. After their retirement, Anne and Lawrence spent their winters in Clearwater, Florida. Anne enjoyed taking the entire family on vacations to all different places.

Anne was a very talented lady. She was an exceptional cook and loved entertaining family and friends during the holidays. She was most famous for her Crème Puffs, lemon meringue pie and ham salad.

In addition to cooking, Anne was talented at arts and crafts. She loved knitting blankets and sweaters, for all of her children and grandchildren.

A devoted member of St. Charles, Anne was seen every Sunday going to church. Anne was a very social person, and loved the company of others around her. She will always be remembered for her close connections around Woburn and how she knew almost everyone who was a long-time resident of the city.

Sadly in addition to her husband and her parents, Anne was predeceased by her brothers Samuel, Carl, Joseph and John Torrice, sisters Mary Beachamp and Grace Langill and Anne’s grandson Jonathan Scotti.

Anne is lovingly survived by her children Karen R. Boucher, her husband Paul of Lebanon, NH, Lauren T. Scotti, her husband Roland of Woburn and Larry Ridge, his wife Fran of Beverly.
