Obituary of Marie J. (Carella) Tassone

MARIE J. (CARELLA) TASSONE - of Woburn, August 10th, at ninety-three years of age. Beloved wife of the late Domenic Tassone. Devoted mother of Joseph Tassone of Woburn, Robert D. Tassone, his wife Colleen of Dracut, David J. Tassone of Woburn. Dear sister of Michael Carella of Arlington, Angela Agostino of Billerica, Elizabeth Galluzzo of Woburn and the late Rose Teofilo. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Wednesday, August 16th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call Tuesday, August 15th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Marie's honor to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Development Office, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.

OBITUARY:

Marie J. (Carella) Tassone passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center, Thursday, August 10th. The beloved wife of the late Domenic Tassone, she was ninety three years of age.

Marie was the daughter of the late Rosario and Maria (BelCastro) Carella. Born in Grotteria, Italy Marie was raised and educated there in Italy. She would met her husband Domenic in Italy, and together they moved to America.

In 1955 they settled in East Woburn,where they made their home. They began their family and she so enjoyed being a mother, to her three boys. Spending time with family, was always a high priority for Marie. It was always fun when everyone would cook their very best meal and what would start off as a picnic would turn into a cook off! A wonderful food fest would unveil itself!

When Marie wasn't cooking up a storm she always enjoyed knitting and crochetin, making warm cuddily sweaters, afghans and the like. Marie’s husband Domenic always had a flower stand, to which she enjoyed helping maintain and run.

Maries Italian heritage and culture were very much celebrated throughout her life, The cooking, traditions, and language were always very much a part of her being. Marie will always be remembered for her loving and compassionate demeanor, sense of humor, along with her very kind and generous ways..

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Wednesday, August 16th at 9:00 a.m. followed by aFuneral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, at 10.
