Born and raised in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Mario was one of seven siblings born to the late Secudino Morales and Eugenia Texidor. He attended school in Guayama, where he received his diploma.

After living in Puerto Rico, Mario moved to New York, then Westfield where he stayed for a few years. While living in Westfield, Mario met the love of his life Joan, to whom he has been married to for over forty years. The couple met while Joan was studying in school. A member of the Westfield Men’s Softball League, one of Mario’s greatest passions in life was baseball, baseball, baseball! He was an avid Red Sox fan and ever since he was a young boy, he played baseball all the way through his later years. Throughout the years, Mario would take his daughters to baseball parks all around the U.S to see the Red Sox play.

In addition to baseball, another favorite hobby of Mario’s was deep sea fishing with friends and family which included his nephews. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling abroad to places such as Key West and Las Vegas where he always engaged in going to nice restaurants, shows and other events, always having a wonderful time in the process.

A strong, reserved, and very humble man, Mario will always be remembered for his honesty and selflessness. A man of very few words, and most sincere with every one that was spoken. He was a self-sacrificing gentleman who shared a great faith and love of his family, unconditionally.
