Frank R. Fuller passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center, Monday evening April 3rd after a lingering illness. The beloved husband of Sheila C. (Fitzgibbon) Fuller, he was eighty-four years of age.
Born in Woburn, Frank was the son of the late Sherwood and Muriel (Leavitt) Fuller. Raised and educated in Woburn, he was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1950. Following high school, Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. Upon his return home, Frank furthered his education at Bentley College where he received his degree in accounting. Later, Frank pursued a Bachelors degree from Suffolk University in business. He began working for Zenith Products Company, where he remained for close to twenty years as a comptroller. Subsequently, he started his own business as an enrolled agent and accountant, which kept him successful, happy and very busy right up to retirement!
Throughout the years, Frank enjoyed skiing and enjoyed many wonderful years as a ski club member. Actually, it was through his ski club that he was introduced to Sheila Fitzgibbon. That was the beginning of their relationship that spanned over fifty-three years and four children! Traveling to Maine and New Hampshire every year was always part of their winter skiing experiences and summer vacation adventures. Boating, swimming, hiking, and exploring coastal areas were also an important part of those special times shared with his family.
Supportive, kind and helpful are three wonderful ways to describe Frank. He always enjoyed trying to figure out what made things work and, if they didn't work, he needed to figure it out and fix it! Frank was also a talented woodworker and artist, primarily sketching and painting. Among other projects, he designed and built an elaborate doll house for his daughter when she was younger.
A wonderful husband and father, Grandpa thoroughly enjoyed all the time he spent with his five grandchildren, each one sharing a very special place in his heart.
Sadly, Frank is predeceased by his son, Frank Fuller, Jr. and his sister, Elsie Mae Fuller. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sheila C. (Fitzgibbon) Fuller, his children, Timothy Fuller and his wife Lisa of Chelmsford, Thomas Fuller and his wife Alice of NY, Elizabeth Valentine and her husband Vinton of Maine, his brothers, Sherwood "Ed" Fuller and his wife Patricia of North Carolina and Walter Fuller and his wife Leslie of Florida. Frank is also survived by five grandchildren--Claire, Lydia, Hannah, Kaydan, and Colin--and many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodbrook Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Thursday, April 6th from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Frank's honor to the St. Francis House, 39 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116.
