OBITUARY:

James A.”Jim” Cahill passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice Home , February eleventh after a brief illness. Husband of Mary E (Donohoe) Cahill, he was fifty seven years of age.

Born in Winchester he was the son of James T. and Lauria (Hession) Cahill Sr formerly of Winchester and now of Ireland. Raised and educated in Winchester he was a member of the Class of 1977. While in high school, Jim was a member of the Winchester High School baseball team. Following high school Jim began at Northeastern University where he graduated from in 1982, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He immediately secured a position at General Electric, then to Textron and has been at UTC for several years.

Jim married Mary Donahoe, thirty years ago and together they brought three wonderful children into the world, of whom he was most proud. Jim was actively involved with his children and participated in all the extra curricular activities. Woburn Recreation teams or St. Charles CYO league, Jim pitched right in and was a coach wherever needed. When not on the bench coaching he was right in the stands cheering them on!

Over the years the family travelled to Ireland where his parents had a home and were originally from, enjoying their extended family and friends. When visiting their grandparents home, Jim would take the opportunity to teach them all how to swim. Once the swimming was down, it was off to their sailboat which was an awful lot of fun for all, over the years.

Jim shared a great love of his family. A quiet man, sometimes could be very serious and other times very outgoing! Jim was a person of strength, courage, values and determination. In all that Jim has done, he taught and challenged his children to be the best they could possibly be in life.
