OBITUARY:

Venio “Angelo” Vitali, passed away at the Sawtell Family Hospice House in Reading , Wednesday, February eighth. The beloved husband of Elisabetta (Vitale) Vitale he was ninety four years of age.

Born and raised in Italy, Angelo was the son of the late Firoente and Armada (Merlini) Vitale. Angelo as he liked to be called since he was a child, was educated in Italy. Angelo began working with his Dad as soon as he was old enough. He learned at a very early age how to work and how to work hard. The work began in the morning when the sun came up until the sunset. While in Italy as he got older he worked in construction.

In 1942 he married his sweetheart Elissabetta Vitale . It was there in Italy where they began their family. Angelo had decided that one day he would move to America in search of the great American dream. He worked tirelessly, always focusing on the dream he had for his family.

In 1952 the journey to America began. All could not leave at the same time , but Angelo came first to Ellis Island and over the next several years, his wife and the rest of the children had all arrived having made their home in Brooklyn, New York. Thirteen years later Angelo and his family moved to North Woburn , where he has remained right up to a week and a half before his passing. Angelo returned to his homeland every year for a visit . Family, friends would all gather and celebrate at their home in Tuscany, the place that was closest to their hearts !

All through out Angelo’s life his family came first and foremost. Beginning his own statuary company once he moved to Woburn was his dream come true. With hard work and determination Angelo was able be very successful in his statuary company that it grew so fast, he needed more space, which he found in Lowell, where he has been.

Gardening in his back yard, was so very special. After spending time at the statuary all day he would come home and spend as much time as needed in his garden….huge garden! From tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, red or green peppers hot or regular, you name it, it was there! Always a wonderful harvest !

A wonderful, hard working and compassionate man, Angelo worked all his life, right up till eight days before he passed away.

Many, many sacrifices were made during Angelo’s lifetime, so that he was able to “love his children in silence” .

Angelo was the beloved husband of Elisabetta Vitali. Devoted father of Silvano Vitali and his wife Sharon of Peabody, Valerio Vitali and his wife Loriane of NH, Leda Nardini and her husband Alfio of Italy, Marcella Pellegrini, and the late Loriana Intravaia and her husband Tomaso of NY.
